Aprilia RSV 1000 R - 2008 Specifications and Reviews
About the Aprilia RSV 1000 R
The second generation RSVR is essentially an evolution of the previous base model (2003 Aprilia RSV Mille 1000) as opposed to the 2003 RSV Mille 1000 R .
The previous generation higher spec RSV Mille R evolved into the new range topping RSVR Factory.
Enhancements to the 2003 Aprilia RSV Mille include a revised frame and engine, smaller fuel tank, lower seat and dual end exhausts. Visually the biggest change is the large air intake on the nose. The new chassis and sub-frame design helps to increase mass centralisation.
Timeline:
The 2006 Aprilia RSV bought over some of the shiny Factory bits. These include Ohlins forks and lightweight wheels however they are not forged like the factory model. Power is also up to 143bhp with improved engine mapping and bigger air intake.
Special editions:
2004: Aprilia RSV Nera, (200 units), black with gold frame and red wheels. Bosting a host of exotic materials, the fairings are carbon and many of the screws/bolts are Titanium, wheels are forged Magnesium and the exhaust is made from Titanium. Very rare, Very desirable and Very expensive!
2007: Pista, This included a Titanium racing exhaust adding +10bhp mid-range and 8kg shaved off the weight.
2008: 10th Anniversary, purple/red/silver paint with a purple front wheel and a red back wheel.
